Royal Australian Air Force
During World War I the Australian Flying Corps was the aviation arm of the Australian Army. At the end of WWI it was decided to re-organize the flying arms of the Army and the Navy into one service. This process went through several shrot incarnations until the Royal Australian Air Force was decided on with the Army and Navy alternating who was Chief of Air Staff.
