The NASM has two Australian Flying Corps exhibits marked with plaques calling the AFC the "Royal Australian Flying Corps". This is incorrect, there was never a Royal prefix to the Australian Flying Corps. The NASM Sopwith Snipe which is in the markings of 4 Sqn AFC was one of four Snipes brought to the US for evaluation. It was originally a 2 seater. The other exhibit with AFC content is a pair of AFC pilots wings. Dh2 - The first US built Liberty engined Dh2. Side nose view. Special hello and thanks to the volunteers and staff at the Champlin museum and the Confederate Air Force Museums. They made for one of the most fascinating and enjoyable experiences I have ever had while at an Aviation Museum.
